The Honourable Brian Peckford comments on Justin Trudeau's assertion that he and his government aren't violating the Charter of Rights and Freedoms since they've met all four tests of Section 1.
Our five time law breaking Prime Minister is at it again.
This time he is trying deflect the fact that his Government is violating The Charter of Rights and Freedoms by falsely claiming that Section 1 applies and that his Governments meets all four tests of that provision. I claim that Section 1 does not even apply or if ,for argument’s sake , it did apply the four tests of Section 1 of The Charter have not been met to : demonstrably justify, by law, using reasonable limits and that which is consistent with a free and democratic society.
How does he do that?
By raising another section of the Charter which is not even being discussed or used in the present manufactured emergency.
The gall of the man to talk of how terrible it is that individual rights can be suspended when he and his Government are doing just that as we speak.
By the way the section of The Charter he is slyly referencing is the Notwithstanding Clause . But unlike what Trudeau is doing in this present circumstance a new piece of legislation is needed , in other words the peoples’ representatives get a say. And it is for five years if passed and must be renewed each five years in the Legislature.
In the present circumstance Trudeau and cohorts are trying to set a precedent which would become the guiding principle for similar undemocratic things forever in the future.
Oh, by the way, one of the reasons the notwithstanding clause became part of the Charter was Justin’s Dad and his Government tried to unilaterally patriate the constitution( abruptly left the negotiating table) with their own version of the Charter . They were stopped by the Supreme Court who ruled their actions unconstitutional . They were not trustworthy.
The only reason therefore we got the Charter we have is in large part because the Provinces took Trudeau Sr to court and got that unconstitutional ruling and forced him back to the negotiating table.

Yes our cowardly Prime Minister is at it again, in a recent speech and in an attempt to "memory hole" the facts, he now claims that he never mandated mass vaccinations for Canadians, but only incentivized them for doing so!
