Looks like the drug companies must have been on Santa’s good list, as in another amazing, Covid coincidence, the FDA approved Merck’s Covid therapeutic for emergency use, that’s right and just within 48 hours of approving Pfizer’s pill. I guess they didn’t want Pfizer to have too much of a head start, that FDA so fair. The Merck medicine is called molnupiravir and is supposed to be taken twice a day for five days. The good news is that the known and confirmed side effects include interference with bone growth in young people and potential harm to babies in the womb from any exposure to the drug, so it’s not recommended for pregnant women or people trying to conceive, for now.

Citizens worldwide should be grateful to the FDA and the drug companies for working overtime to get this done. After all what are the odds? TWO Covid therapeutics that navigated the long, difficult journey through preliminary trials and FDA approval — ending within two days of each other. And really the best part of all is that they’re coming out right when the argument for injections is falling given all injection failures, coincidental or what?

Once again proving Christmas came early for Merck, it's been reported that the U.S. has already bought 3.1 million doses, wonder how many does other nations have purchased. And in a rather bold and daring move, Merck states it will already have manufactured 10 million doses by the end of this year, and 20 million more in 2022. Given they had no idea whatsoever whether the FDA would have granted them an approval, looks like their gamble paid off, huh?
