It was almost like the folks at the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) were in a “confessional” yesterday admitting blunder after blunder. One of the huge blunders admitted yesterday, was when the agency issued a rare “correction,” reducing its estimated proportion of Omicron variant cases. Just a few days ago, the CDC said 73% — almost three quarters — of new cases were Omicron. However, the agency revised that figure. Now, the CDC says only 22% of new cases are Omicron. So, in one day it went from MOST cases are from Omicron to only SOME cases are from Omicron

Whoopsie daisy! That’s kind of a big mistake, no? Now, you might be one of those folks who question the science and want to know how’d they get it so wrong? Don’t hold your breath! I’m sure it’s got them baffled! But now knowing how bad they’re at math, I’m thinking we might need to make abacus’s mandatory over at the CDC.

Reporting on the story, the Hill quoted former FDA Commissioner and Pfizer executive Scott Gottlieb making the obvious point. “Set aside the question of how the initial estimate was so inaccurate, ” Gottlieb mused. He’s setting “the question” aside, why shouldn’t he, after all it’s not like they’re one of those government agencies that’s supposed to be accountable to the citizens? But, do we HAVE to set that question aside? Hell No! Don’t you think it would be helpful to know how the CDC got it so wrong?

Apparently not, in fact the CDC doesn’t have to explain itself, after all it’s blasphemy to question the God like experts! They’re entitled to change their mind, so deal with it.
