The Media has done it again! Rasmussen reported a new poll finding that a clear majority of American’s consider the media to be “the enemy of the people.” Here is the breakdown:

Question: “Do you agree or disagree with this statement: The media are “truly the enemy of the people”?”

AGREE
White – 56%
Black – 63%
Other Non-White 60%
Democrat – 37%
Unaffiliated – 61%
GOP (Republican) – 76%
All Voters 58%

As you can see, only one group of those surveyed disagrees in majority that the media is the enemy of the people, what’s that mean, to me it means that the media works counter to the best interests of the citizens of the country. Only one, and that group should come as no surprise, since it benefits from the media’s biased, slanted and “kernel of truth in a field of lies” coverage the most. However, if I were a member of the media, what I would be troubled most is by the fact that even over a third of DEMOCRATS (the ones who are supposed to share my ideology) believe the media is our enemy.

Now how would this shape out in Canada, hard to say as we don’t typically split along ethnic lines, however we do split along political ideology. So, I think at the end of the day, the Democrat numbers would more than likely mirror the numbers for our left of center parties (Liberals, NDP, Greens) and the Republican numbers would likely closely align with the right of center parties (PPC, Conversative). I for one would love to see a question such as this posed in Canada and more importantly be interested in the results.
