Whereas, the justification for invoking the Emergencies Act has not been met as follows:
“3 For the purposes of this Act, a national emergency is an urgent and critical situation of a temporary nature that

(a) seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians and is of such proportions or nature as to exceed the capacity or authority of a province to deal with it, or

(b) seriously threatens the ability of the Government of Canada to preserve the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Canada

and that cannot be effectively dealt with under any other law of Canada.”

We call on INSERT MP’S NAME HERE to act in the best interest of Canadians by upholding the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and to oppose the Emergencies Act that has been brought in to shut down the protests of those opposing government mandates related to Covid-19.

Accusations of widespread intimidation and violence on the part of convoy participants are utterly false. They were first made by Mr. Trudeau and other government leaders to marginalize and vilify convoy participants and have since been repeated by so-called journalists who simply repackage what they have read from other sources without verifying the facts for themselves.

Misrepresenting the peaceful demonstration and refusing to listen to or converse with the organizers of the protests has resulted in the protests becoming unnecessarily prolonged and entrenched.

By invoking the federal Emergencies Act in the complete absence of any reasonable justification, Justin Trudeau is setting a dangerous precedent that threatens the right of all Canadians to peaceful assembly and protest.

To support the use of the Emergencies Act at this time is a willful denial of the provinces which are opposed to this and which are capable of and have been working with the protesters to ensure safety for all Canadians.

Furthermore, it is a willful denial of the fact that numerous countries around the world have now recognized that Public Health restrictions and mandates are doing more harm than good, and can no longer be justified.

Supporting the Emergencies Act, is, in short, a denial of and abdication of your duty to fairly represent the people you were elected to serve, including the working class truckers.
